My favorite "Chalk Paint" makeover.

It's been a while since I was able to blog. Finding the time is not the only problem... "Windows 10" is the biggest draw back. I'm not a computer geek, never was and never will be. Today, I decided to try to post and see if I could actually get photos to load.

I chose to share my favorite "Chalk Paint" Makeover. In the 4 years, Next Act has been in business, I have painted hundreds of pieces. Some are just average pieces that when you get done, turn out really nice and some are fantastic!!!

This hutch cabinet was exquisite to start with. There wasn't a scratch on it and it was in immaculate condition.  It was obviously loved and treasured. When I was asked to  paint it, I was honored. It had meant a lot to the Mother and had been passed on to her daughter. My job was to make it not only fit into the new décor but to keep the integrity of the piece.

It was to be done in a soft Antique White with the slightest distressing. A cottage look was what was requested and is one of my favorite styles. It's the first piece I ever painted in the customers home. I had painted many pieces for them, bedroom suite, dining room table and chairs, buffet and kitchen set, so I felt very comfortable in their home.

One of my favorite things that happened while I was painting, I had an observer. His name is Tut and he is the cutest cat you can imagine. He watched me for a while and then would disappear, he did manage to stop for a few treats and we became friends.

After a week, I finally had the hutch completed.  When all the glassware and china were put in their place it became so elegant. This picture doesn't do it justice, it is absolutely beautiful. I can't take the credit, all I did was paint it. The beauty comes from the love shared by a Mother and Daughter.

I know that my efforts were worth it, Judy and Bob still comment on how much they love all of their chalk painted pieces.

I hope you like the Before and After.  If you have some furniture you love but it needs a makeover, stop in and let us explain how easy it is for you to transform your own pieces.

Be happy and creative,
Patti
